General meetings are held at the Harriet Alexander Nature Center in Roseville MN, on the first Friday of every month (unless noted otherwise). Doors open at 6:30 Meetings run form 7-9PM
Meetings are open to the public! you you don’t have to be a member to attend.
All members are encouraged to attend as often as possible. Most of the services provided for the membership are handled at the monthly meetings. There are sign-up sheets at the front of the meeting room for MHS activities. These include Critter of the Month, Hands-On, and other events.
ANOUNCEMENTS
The president will make announcements about upcoming events and activities that MHS is participating in. Announcements by committees and members are also heard at this time.
SPEAKER
The monthly speaker will present on various topics directly and indirectly affecting amphibians and reptiles. The presentations generally run about 1 hour and are followed by a Q&A by the speaker.
CRITTER OF THE MONTH
A member that signed up previously will give a short presentation on an animal they brought form their collection to share with the membership. This is followed by a chance to meet the animal up close it the presenter agrees.
FEEDERS
If you ordered feeders from any of our wonderful partners, you can pickup your order after the speaker has finished their presentation.
ADOPTIONS
*CURRENTLY SUSPENDED DUE TO LACK OR INTERST IN ADOPTING* Active members are allowed participate in our Animal Adoption program. As a current member in good standing, you may apply for animals that are surrendered to the society at the general meetings after the presentation.
CONSULTATIONS
Herpetologist Jeff LeClere will be available before and after the meetings for Brief consultations about animals and offers gender verification. (This is not a vet consultation, he cannot give medial advice. Please do not bring sick or injured animals for consultations).
SWAP TABLE
Members may bring reptile related items in new or good condition to give away at the swap table. Items on the swap table are free to any of the membership to take. Items not claimed by the end of the meeting must be collected by the member that brought them. MHS cant store items.
MINGLE TIME
Any time left over and be used to mingle with other members and collect feeders or items from the swap table. Doors close at 9PM
